Application for Senior Citizen Discount
The passage of the Implementating Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act No. 9994 otherwise known as the “Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010” enabled the Baao Water District (BWD) to grant five percent (5%) discount relative to the monthly utilization of water provided by us.
Terms of Availment
Item c of Section 4 of the Republic Act No. 9994 specifically states the qualifications for the availment of this privilege.
- The Senior Citizen must be a resident of the household;
- Meter and Account registration should be in the name of the Senior Citizen for a period of one (1) year;
- Monthly water consumption does not exceed thirty (30) cubic meters;
- This privilege is granted per household regardless of the number of senior citizens residing therein.
Documentary Requirements
For concessionaires aged 60 years old and above, who qualifies to apply for this discount privilege may bring the following to our office:
- Properly filled-out Application Form (download BWD Application for Senior Citizen Discount Availment)
- Senior Citizen ID issued by the Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) of the place where the senior citizen resides
- Proof of Residence / Barangay Clearance
- Picture holding the latest newspaper
- If applying through a representative, an authorization letter and valid Government ID of the representative shall be required
How to avail
The Senior Citizen may go directly to our New Accounts / Billing Section or to the PACD to initiate the process of application. The applicant shall also be directed to attend an Orientation Seminar after all the documents passed were cleared. After which, all of the documents provided shall be forwarded to the Office of the Division Manager and the General Manager for approval. Discount will then be automatically entered and deducted through the computerized system once approved.
NOTE:
This discount privilege shall be renewed annually, EVERY DECEMBER, following the same procedure.
